About Community AXIS Enterprises Incorporated
Empowering People. Strengthening Communities.
Community AXIS Enterprises Inc. (CAEI) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Victoria and South East South Australia, proudly trading as AXIS Employment and AXIS Worx.
From our humble beginnings in 1991 as Wimmera Job Match to the industry-leading organisation we are today, CAEI has grown from strength to strength — helping thousands of Australians find meaningful work, build confidence, and transform their lives.
Our Purpose
At CAEI, we believe employment is more than a job — it’s a pathway to independence, connection, and wellbeing.
We are driven by a simple mission:
To empower individuals through tailored employment solutions that create lasting opportunities and stronger communities.
Through collaboration, integrity, and respect, we continues to deliver on our promise — helping people realise their potential and employers build diverse, capable workforces.
AXIS Employment – Our Journey
For more than 30 years, AXIS Employment has been dedicated to delivering government-funded disability and employment services across the Grampians region and beyond.
In 2012, we expanded our reach after successfully tendering to provide Disability Employment Services (DES) in five additional Employment Service Areas (ESA): Eureka, Bendigo, Sunraysia, Mid Murray, and South East SA. This milestone reflected the Australian Government’s confidence in our ability to deliver quality outcomes for both Job Seekers and Employers.
Our growth continued in 2016 with the award of a Transition to Work (TtW) contract through the Department of Jobs and Small Business (formerly the Department of Employment). Operating in Horsham, Mildura, and Swan Hill, this program supports young people aged 15–24 to re-engage in employment, training, or education — helping the next generation build brighter futures.
In 2018, AXIS Employment was again recognised for excellence with new business in the Hampden and Western District ESAs in Victoria, alongside approval to operate Disability Management Services (DMS) across all eight of our service areas. This expansion strengthened our ability to serve more job seekers, achieve greater community impact, and deliver on our promise of helping people reach their potential.
Most recently, in 2025, AXIS Employment was awarded business in the Grampians, Bendigo, Eureka, Hampden, Mid Murray, South East, Sunraysia and Western District Employment Service Areas under the Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) program — a new national initiative designed to help people with disability, injury, or health conditions prepare for, find, and thrive in meaningful employment. This achievement represents another exciting chapter in our journey, reaffirming our long-standing commitment to inclusion, innovation, and delivering life-changing outcomes for job seekers and employers alike.
AXIS Worx — Supporting Employment for All
In 2011, AXIS Worx was formed through the amalgamation of Community AXIS Enterprises Inc. and The Wool Factory. Initially contracted by the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs — later the Department of Social Services — AXIS Worx delivered a Disability Employment Assistance Program as an Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE).
This initiative provided supported employment for up to 43 employees in a safe, inclusive, and empowering environment. AXIS Worx offered employment opportunities in the Cafe, Wood Worx, E-Worx, Pak Worx.
In October 2017, AXIS Worx began transitioning to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), achieving full NDIS funding by July 2018. Under the NDIS, AXIS Worx is no longer capped in the number of Supported Employment places it can offer.
Today, AXIS Worx operates across three thriving divisions — CDS, E-Worx, and Wood Worx — providing supported employment opportunities and skills development for people with disability.
